The Wax Skin Spa is conveniently located within North East Portland. We are the first sustainable and re-purposed designed spa in the nation. No one is going to know where you are heading when you walk through our door. No waiting in a lobby full of women; it is just you and our welcoming staff.
Uhhh.... Can I ask you a question?
Q. When should I come back for maintenance waxing?
A. We recommend 4-6 weeks between services.
Hair grows in three cycles, and since we cant see under the dermis, it is really important to let all three cycles grow out (¼ of an 1 inch minimum). If you are consistent and follow our suggestions it will also hurt less. Also don't shave . Stop shaving at least for 3 wks prior to your visit.
Q. Does it hurt to get waxed?
A. Duh.... we are going to be pulling out your hairs from the root follicles . However, in a kind & caring way. Its not that bad guys!
Q. How long does my hair have to be to wax?
A. I have to have 1/4 of an inch of hair, about 3 weeks worth of growth .
Q. Should I do anything before I come in?
A. Take a shower... Cleanliness is next to Godliness, but please don't trim your hair you might make it to short to wax.
Q. Is there anything I need to do after?
A. Yes, we suggest that you purchase a Dirty Dog kit from our front counter to dry brush to help with ingrown hair issues.
